Description

The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) is a ground-based very-high-energy gamma-ray observatory currently in development that observes gamma-rays via Cherenkov radiation. The Schwarzchild-Couder Telescope (SCT) is a design candidate for Medium-Sized Telescopes (MSTs) at CTAO-South, with the potential for additional SCTs to later improve the performance of CTAO. The prototype Schwarzchild-Couder Telescope (pSCT) is a proof of concept instrument of the SCT design. Installed in 2019, the original camera of the pSCT consisted of 24 modules, only populating the center of the camera. The upgraded pSCT camera consists of 177 modules alongside improved electronics and upgraded silicone photomultipliers (SiPMs). The pSCT camera modules are currently in the process of being calibrated, installed, and commissioned.
