Description
Anna Suliga and I have been modeling the Pierre Auger Observatory spectrum and composition data in the Binary Neutron Star Merger scenario, including interactions in the source and acceleration in both jet and magnetized outflow. Our results provide strong evidence that UHECRs are produced in binary neutron star mergers. We show how UHECRs and UHE-neutrinos elucidate otherwise inaccessible aspects of neutron star mergers.
