Description
KM3NeT’s detection of a muon track produced by a ∼220 PeV neutrino provides an opportunity to probe physics at center-of-momentum energies greater than those probed by the Large Hadron Collider or other existing particle accelerators. In this talk, I will discuss how this single event can place an upper limit on the neutrino-nucleon cross section, which could be used to constrain a variety of scenarios beyond the Standard Model, specially in future telescopes. Then, I will discuss if exotic physics can improve the tension between this event and the absence of events in IceCube.
