Air Travel

Rochester is served by two airports:

  1. Greater Rochester International Airport is located immediately southwest of the city and is a 10-minute taxi ride (15 USD) or shuttle ride from the University of Rochester. The recommended hotels have limited airport shuttles; see the Accomodations link in the menu for details. The Rochester airport has multiple daily flights from Chicago-O'Hare, Washington-Dulles and Washington-Reagan, Philadelphia, New York-JFK/LaGuardia/Newark, Atlanta, and Toronto.
  2. Buffalo Niagara Airport is located 90 minutes west of Rochester and is served by several discount airlines such as Southwest.

Parking on Campus

If you rent a car in Rochester and want to drive to campus, note that parking on campus is NOT free between 7:30 am and 7:30 pm. You must stop at the visitor information booth on Wilson Boulevard, which is directly in front of you when you enter the campus from Elmwood Avenue. An all-day parking pass costs 5 USD per day. You will be given a campus map by the guard with directions to an available parking lot.
