Airport Transportation: SCAR-Sponsored Shuttles
SCAR AAA has ordered private shuttles to and from Svalbard Airport for the following dates and times:
18 September: 2 shuttles from the airport to the hotel
For arriving flight DY396, landing at 11:30
For arriving flight SAS/SK4414, landing at 14:00
22 September: 1 shuttle from the hotel to the airport
Leaves the hotel at 12:00
Please note that the shuttles on 18 September are connected with the flight numbers, and the drivers will shift their schedule based on the actual landing times of the flights.
Accompanying guests are also welcome to take the SCAR-sponsored airport shuttles.
Airport Transportation: Airport Shuttle
If the SCAR-sponsored shuttles do not work with your travel itinerary, there is a fixed-route airport shuttle corresponding with all arrivals and departures at Svalbard Airport. The airport shuttle stops at every hotel and guesthouse, including the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel. The fixed-route shuttle costs 100 NOK (70 NOK for students with ID), payable upon boarding. You can pay in Norwegian kroner (cash) or by credit card.

Other Transportation During the Conference
SCAR AAA will provide transportation for all sponsored excursions and activities, including the trip to the Spitsbergen Artists Center on Tuesday, 19 September; to SvalSat on Wednesday, 20 September; and to the Dinner Cruise on Wednesday, 20 September.
Walking in Longyearbyen
Walking is permitted within town limits. However, visitors should not venture outside of Longyearbyen without being accompanied by a professional guide to protect against polar bear encounters. More information, including a map demarcating town limits, can be found on the Stay Safe in Svalbard page of the Visit Svalbard website.
